The 5-day tour starts from Hanoi and takes you to Mai Chau valley, Pu Luong Nature Reserve and Halong bay. You will trek through local Thai hamlets, terraced rice fields in Pu Luong Nature Reserve and also enjoy an overnight cruise to Halong bay. You have the opportunity to spend the night in  a local stilt house and to paddle through hundred of islets in Halong bay. The multisport tour is customized for individuals, small groups, family holidays and those looking for a tailor-made trip to the northern Vietnam.

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau. Trekking Pu Luong national park.

You will be met up at your hotel in Hanoi city center by Lotussia Travel team and depart for Mai Chau. This scenic drive takes around four hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies.

Following lunch in Poom Coong village, Mai Chau we drive further into the Pu Luong Nature reserve where we begin our trek. We trek for approximately three hours before arriving at the Thai village of Hang where we spend the night with a local Thai family. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we will discover a little more about their lives and culture.


Day 2: Continue trekking Pu Luong nature reserve.

Today we will walk for about six hours. Along the way we pass through several Thai villages and hamlets before arriving at the village of Kho Muong. As the name suggests this is a Muong minority village and we will be their guests for the night.

Day 3: Continue trekking. Travel back to Hanoi.

This morning we set out from Kho Muong and trek for roughly three hours and a half before arriving in Pho Doan townlet where your lunch will be provided in a local house.

After breakfast, we will catch a motorbike-taxi traveling to La Han ferry where our car will be waiting for us for our journey back to Hanoi.

Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi – Halong bay. Boat cruise. Sea canoeing tour.

Travel from your hotel to our departure point by yourselves.

8:15: Get on our sharing shuttle bus and enjoy the three-hour drive through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.

Arrive in Halong around noon and board the Bai Tho traditional sailing junk (or similar junk). Whilst cruising the exquisite waters sample the regions fresh seafood. Visit the recently discovered Surprise Grotto with its great views or journey to Dau Go Cave and nearby see the famous stalagmites and stalactites of Thien Cung Cave.

Enjoy one-hour kayaking on the emerald waters of Halong Bay.

Watch the sun set over the bay whilst enjoying a delicious dinner.

Overnight on board junk.

Day 5: Halong bay – Hanoi.

Wake up to fresh coffee and a wholesome breakfast before cruising back to Halong City.

Disembark at the dock at Halong City at 11:00 and transfer back to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi around 15:30. You will be dropped off near Thang Long water puppet theatre. Travel to your hotel by yourselves. End of our service.

The 4-day tour takes you to Mai Chau, Hoa Binh province, Pu Luong nature reserve, Thanh Hoa province and Tam Coc, Ninh Binh province in the north-west Vietnam. You trek through rice fields, local Thai villages. Spending two nights at local home (homestay) also offers a real life experience. The opportunity to enjoy a river boat trip and to cycle the rural Tam Coc. The best time to do this itinerary is May and October. Duriing this period, the temperature is cool, sunny, with little rain.

Day 1: Hanoi – Maichau – Puluong Nature Reserve.Trekking to Hang village (L,D)

8:00: You will be met up by Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi (Please advise your hotel name upon confirmation).

Depart for Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This scenic drive takes around four hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies.

Lunch will be provided in a stilt house in Poom Coong village, Mai Chau.

Following lunch, we drive further into the reserve where we begin our trek. We trek for approximately three hours before arriving at the Thai village of Hang.

We spend the night with a local Thai family who will be our host in a traditional house on stilts. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we will discover a little more about their lives and culture.


 Day 2: Trekking from Hang village to Kho Muong village (B,L,D)

Day 3: Trekking to Pho Doan. Travel to Tamcoc (B,L,D)


This morning we set out from Kho Muong and trek for roughly three hours and a half before arriving in Pho Doan townlet where your lunch will be provided in a local house.

After breakfast, we will take a motorbike-taxi to La Han ferry where our car will be waiting for us for our journey to Tam Coc (“Halong bay in-land”).

Dinner & overnight in Tamcoc.

Day 4: River boat trip. Countryside cycle. Return to Hanoi (B)

After breakfast, we will have a two-hour boat trip along the Boi river.

The river trip in Tam coc is wonderful for photo hunters, especially when local people come to harvest the water rice planted along the river, or when they transplant some seedling for the next crops. The tourists often compare the place with Guilin - China, or more closely, to the limestone islets of Halong Bay in the Tonkin Gulf for their similar geological structures and shapes.

Then enjoy one-hour bicycle trip through rural villages before arriving Hoalu ancient capital.

Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in Hoa Lu.

Return to Hanoi. Trip ends.
